Golden Dragon in mesquite wood oil diffuser. The Artists at Crystal Mountain work together to make these oil diffusers an attractive piece in any decor. Along with your choice of any Crystal Mountain oil, your room will smell wonderful when you use your Crystal Mountain oil burner. Larry Murley starts with a block of wood on his lathe and - as he describes it - sees what it becomes. Once the piece or wood is turned it is time for the pillars to be made, matched and attached. Kerry Kelly or Misty Murley sculpt an original image out of plastiacine clay. A mold is made so multiple copies can be cast in HydroCal. The cast pieces are then hand painted to compliment the wood. Once the castings are finished the pieces are assembled by glue and pegging, and topped with a glass dish.

Larry uses different woods, all depending on what is on hand. He has a lot of black walnut from Arkansas, and also an elm that turns out has a lot of spalting in it. He has just cut down a sycamore this spring, it will have to dry for a year so it will be later this winter before we see what wonders that wood produces.Larry at the lathe.
Misty MurleyMisty is Larry's granddaughter. She is an incredible artist by nature. She created the women and the women pillars. Larry often has ideas in his head but his hands don't scuplt well, so he conveys these images to Misty to bring forth. Kerry also creates her own styles as well.Kerry Kelly
