JAMES B KELLEY
JAMES B KELLEY, son of William and Winnefred (Langston) Kelly, was born 1 June 1816 in
Pendleton District, South Carolina and died 12 September 1898 in Jerusalem District,
Pickens County, Georgia. He married 25 February 1836 in Rabun County, Georgia to
MELINDA BECK, daughter of Solomon Beck, born 29 October 1819 in
South Carolina and died 4 May 1894 in Jerusalem District.
Issue:
SARAH P. KELLY born 1836 in Rabun County, Georgia. She died after 1870. NFI
WILLIAM S. KELLY born October 1837 in Rabun Co.
ANDREW JACKSON KELLY born 1840 in Rabun County and died 12 January 1862 in Richmond, Virginia.
He enlisted as a private 10 September 1861 in Company D, 23 Regular Georgia Volunteer Infantry,
Army of Tennessee, "Cherokee Repellers", from Cherokee County, Georgia
as a private in the Confederate Army. He died unmarried in General Hospital #16.
JEFFEREY LEASTER KELLY born March 1842 in Georgia.
JAMES FREEMAN KELLY born 9 November 1845 in Georgia.
NANCY A. KELLY born 1851 in Cherokee County. NFI (This date is probably not right. She
was probably born in 1849).
LOUISE PIERCE KELLY born 8 Decmber 1851 in Ballground, Cherokee Co.
WINNEFRED KELLY born 1856 in Cherokee Co. NFI
JOSEPH BROWN KELLY born 4 April 1857 in Cherokee Co.
ROBERT MORGAN KELLY born 25 September 1862 in Cherokee Co.
A James B. Kelly enlisted as a private 22 September 1863. Deserted 11 December 1863.
Malinda Kelly was described by her granddaughter, Nancy Ella Jones, as a small, dark lady.
