LORANZO D KELLY

LORANZO D KELLY, son of William and Winnefred (Langston) Kelly, was born 1830 in Rabun County, Georgia and died 22 July 1864 in the Battle of Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. He married 14 November 1852 in Gilmer County, Georgia to JOANNA SHIRES, duaghter of Thomas and Nancy Shires, born 1840 in Georgia.

ANDREW JACKSON KELLY born 1856 in Georgia.
MARY MALINDA KELLY born 1859 in Georgia.
WILMA C. KELLY born 1862 in Georgia.

Lorenzo D. Kelly enlisted as a private in Company E, 8th Regular Georgia State Troops on 7 November 1861. Apparently mustered out a Savannah, Georgia in May 1862. Enlisted as a private in Infantry Battalion, Smith's Legion, Georgia Volunteers 12 May 1862. Transfered to Company H, 65th Regular Georgia Infantry March 1863. Appointed 3rd Corparal 1 April 1864. Killed in the Battle of Atlanta, Georgia 22 July 1864.
