Benzion(Styrax benzion)Also known as styrax, our bezoin resin is a 50% solution so it will remain pourable at room tempature(even then it is thick!). Used for thousands of years as a medicine and incense, the fumigations were believed to drive away evil spirits. Used in China for its heating and drying qualities. Exterally used for irritable skin conditions - also for respiratory complaints and internally as a carminative for indigestion, etc. Benzoin is also a preservative for fats. |
